The efficiency and safety of laser cutting and engraving systems depends crucially on high-quality extraction solutions. JustLaser offers innovative extraction systems that have been specially developed for the powerful JustLarge large format lasers. These systems play a crucial role in the removal of vapors and fine contaminants generated during laser cutting and engraving.
All laser machines from JustLaser are equipped with efficient laser extraction systems. These consist of metal propellers and powerful electric motors that can move large volumes of air. Most devices have two blowers - one for the upper vacuum and one for the lower vacuum. For smaller models, such as the JustCut, a single blower is sufficient.
The JustLarge CO2 laser machines have a double vacuum system (top and bottom), which ensures precise processing of the material and a safe working environment. The head extraction system, an innovative component, efficiently removes vapors and dust via an L-shaped trough. It directs the fumes either outside or into a filter system, which cleans them and returns them to the room. For more demanding applications, a 360-degree vacuum cover can also be installed around the laser nozzle.
The bottom vacuum of the JustLarge laser cutter consists of a sealed table chamber with channels that are connected to the vacuum system via spiral tubes and flexible hoses. The table structure is then equipped with a processing table consisting of layers such as Ecolite and Honeycomb. These layers form the flat work surface on which your material is placed. The top of the table is open and must be sealed to allow the vacuum system to work efficiently. A sheet of material and thin paper is usually used to seal the table. Once the table is sealed and the vacuum is turned on, the material is held firmly on the processing bed during laser cutting and engraving.
The unique table design of the JustLarge allows the blower system to also function as a vacuum hold-down table. This system keeps panels or material flat on the table during processing. Tables without this feature cause the material to move during processing, ultimately resulting in inaccurate cuts and poor quality engravings.
When processing a material, whether engraving or cutting, small openings can be made around the material using a utility knife or the laser itself. These openings help to extract any vapors that may be on the table surface. If the open areas are no longer needed in the future, they can be sealed with tape and/or additional paper.
Every laser system from JustLaser is supplied with flexible hoses. These hoses vary in thickness and flexibility to optimally support both the upper and lower vacuum systems. The top-of-the-range JustLarge model in particular is equipped with a robust, flame-retardant black hose that is ideal for extracting molten material particles.
The upper vacuum system is connected to the moving gantry system and a more flexible gray hose is used to reduce the load on the moving gantry. The upper vacuum system is typically only used to remove vapors and it is rare that a molten particle will enter this system. Therefore, there is a lower flammability rating for this area.
Our top-of-the-range JustLarge model is equipped with a black hose, which is thicker and has a higher flame protection class. The more durable hose is the better choice here, as small particles of molten material often enter the lower table chamber during the cutting process These small molten particles can lead to burn marks or holes in the hose if it does not have an appropriate flame retardant rating.
Not every building allows exhaust fumes to be discharged directly into the open air. JustLaser therefore offers extraction systems with an integrated fan and multi-layer filter system that effectively filter harmful particles and odors. These filter systems, including pre-filters, carbon filters and HEPA filters, are easy to replace.
When cutting metal, spark pre-separators should be considered to reduce sparking and increase safety. These pre-separators are particularly important to prevent fires in filters or damage to hoses.
Maintenance of the vacuum system is crucial for the longevity and efficiency of the devices. JustLaser recommends regular checks and replacement of filters, hoses and cleaning of the table structure.
Any material that will be processed with the laser system should undergo a formal safety check. Material suppliers and manufacturers are obliged to provide a safety data sheet on request. The safety data sheet can be used to determine what hazards may exist after laser processing. Take due care in advance and ensure that you create a safe working environment for those working on and around the laser system.
